Straying from the commands of God, and failure to turn to Him in repent- ance, caused much grief for His people. However, He raised up certain prophets to stand strong, to not only warn them of impending danger, but also, to encour- age them to rely upon God instead of their own ways. Satan would continue to harrass God’s people and would bring constant attention to their deficiencies before the Just God Whose justice would allow the chastisement to bring them in line with His Word. God would allow much oppression to come against His people; although, it was certain that judgment would come, deliverance was reassured through those who God would use to speak by what was seen in guidance to the times and what He would fulfill of each age. There would be a need for a Deliverer (that no other, even through time and centuries would provide) to free them from the bondage that a sin stained life caused. The Messiah would be that Deliverer! The forces of Satan would be defeated at the Cross in the atoning blood of Jesus. The fourth vision shown in the book of Zechariah is a representation of what God would do in restoration by His cleansing work applied that would purge the defilement in a purification that could not otherwise be possible. No other method of any earthly sort would be sufficient to accomplish was needed for riddance of the stain of sin and what iniquities have comtaminated. What God sent out in new growth would be in fulfillment to the promise He had made in service to function that would lead to exaltation ultimately. God’s Word is solid truth, and His foundation is sure! The inscription of His love runs deeper than words etched through the hardest of surfaces; for, in His tender flesh bore deeper scars that should remind us that His blood was never shed in vain; for, His spotless life offers purging of a sin sick soul and gives way to victory beyond the grave. It is in Jesus that this blessed promise rests and our hopes secured; for, it is in His death, burial, and Resurrection that made it all possible! That is how “Standing To Serve” makes such a difference in healing! Thank You very much! LaNora G. Means
