What degree of exertion have you performed to have a desired effect hoping the result would profit your life? Whatever strength in the intensity and duration to keep functioning strongly, we must actually maintain our focus and attention in terms of healthy relations that promote the growth of the exellent moral soundness in Christian character. This vigorous activity and sincere encourage- ment is one of commitment in aspiration, knowing that the real outcome derives from the true source of our faith in God, Who has provided all we need to live each day with the fulfillment of our future kept in mind, understanding that we want to make heaven our home; for, the dwellings of this earthly life pass rapidly, and the worldly ways will be swiftly judged by God Himself. So the strong desire we are to have should be one of an application to join with and increase in the furtherance of the virtues that are necessary to live victoriously (See Second Peter chapter one, verses five through seven). We would not want to be deficient in these qualities, nor be devoid of the fact of what Jesus did that we may be cleansed from our past sins. We therefore with much preparation need be disciplined to exercise these qualities all the while remaining steady to obtain the prize ahead so that we would not be disqualified. We would not want to be unfit for what is intended in the promises of God; instead, we would want to aim with utmost accuracy to live our lives for the glory of God to carry the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord. The pleasing manner that is required is a sureness, being confident that every step we take is is steady that we may not stumble; for we know the reliabilty of God’s Word is of trustworthy nature of our assured hope by the love of Jesus and our partaking of His Divine nature. Then with our eyes focused on the truth of God’s Word, we will profit much in gaining the value in the blessings and the expectation ahead without fighting as though we are pumping our arms in force of blow with our fists to the air. The powers of this world could never thwart God’s goodness toward those Who are truly His. Take careful attention to “Run Your Race Well”! LaNora G. Means
