Once a person accepts what God gave in His salvation plan through the Lord Jesus Christ, the life then lived should be in reliance of the work of the Holy Spirit upons one’s heart. This reliance upon His presence is necessary in order to live the life that is pleasing in God’s sight. God works upon the mind and heart by giving one the ability through the Holy Spirit to forsake sinful pleasures that would otherwise rule the flesh; and instead to rely upon His Spirit for the strength needed to allow the transformation of one’s mind to be in line with the way of Jesus in attitude and conduct. Oh how often one’s life seems defeated for trying to live it on one’s own! For on one’s own, failure is sure; but, with trust in God’s love, and adherance to His Word in Jesus Christ, that power of His love becomes so real to the believer that healing occurs to the health of one’s relationship in God. So why be bound to that enslavement of sin whenever victory is given in the joy and peace that God bestows upon a life committed to His love and way? The sinful desires of the flesh should not be allowed to rule one’s life after the genuine love of God cleanses one’s life. The old way of lifestyle should lose its significance and hold upon one’s life once one repents and turns to God for the renewal that He gives in the newness of life. By the transformation of one’s mind by acceptance to His grace, one can acknowledge His leading in the depth of His Word that helps one gain an even greater understanding to lean on Him each step of the way in one’s life. So by way of repentance in turning to God for forgiveness, one is justified in His sight; and by trusting in His grace through the Lord Jesus Christ by faith, and by relying upon the Holy Spirit to do the work upon one’s mind and heart, one can then truly partake of His blessings and His marvelous mercy that allows one to be an overcomer in a world of sin. For, it is in the name of Jesus that we obtain our victory, and in His name we must trust with all of our hearts. For according to Acts 4:12, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” (NIV) Watch my sermon titled “Changed By His Spirit”, and live by faith in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
